Booking Your Private Ceremony

To secure either the Mayor's Balcony or North Gallery for your private ceremony, booking in advance is essential. Contact the San Francisco City Hall events team to inquire about availability and reservation procedures. Consider booking well in advance to ensure your preferred date and time slot. Up to one-hour from Monday through Friday, with the earliest ceremony beginning at 9:00 am and the latest beginning at 3:00 pm.

Rental cost for the package is $1,000, which includes an hour of access for up to 100 guests. Chairs are an additional equipment rental, with the Mayor’s Balcony seating up to 40 and the Fourth Floor Galleries up to 60 (remaining guests stand for the ceremony).

Due to time constraints, food and beverage service is not possible. Acoustic music may be played with advance approval, and musicians must be selected from our qualified list. No more than two musicians are allowed to perform.

Two-hour Wedding package for the private ceremonies offers the occasion of exchanging vows on the Grand Staircase of the Rotunda surrounded by family and friends.

This $5,000 package is offered on Saturdays only with the earliest ceremony beginning at 9:00 am and the latest beginning at 12:00 noon. The two-hour period is inclusive of load-in and load-out.

The package accommodates up to 200 guests, including Natural Wood Folding chairs, insurance and basic building services. Guest counts above 200 may incur additional labor and equipment charges, including additional rent of $4/guest and an insurance fee of $3/guest with a $100 minimum.

Private wedding ceremonies allow couples to customize their ceremony to suit their preferences. You may choose to have a civil ceremony performed by a Deputy Marriage Commissioner or bring your own officiant.
